Through generating support among Central Iowa’s young business leaders and local community, The Emerging Leaders Board (ELB) assists by proactively supporting in these key ways:
- Volunteer Recruitment
- Awareness
- Stewardship
With specific goals tied to each, the ELB is a driving force in the advancement of community relations. JA Central Iowa is driven by volunteers connecting with students through JA programs. The continued student growth is only accomplished when our volunteer needs are met.
We are thrilled to report that the ELB has exceeded their goal of recruiting 300 volunteers for Finance Park in the 22’-23’ school year. In its second year, Finance Park’s has double from the previous year and is on pace to serve an additional 1,000+ students in the 2023-2024 school year. Each Finance Park requires 14 volunteers to ensure the students have a quality experience.
In tandem with recruiting volunteers comes the explanation of what JA does. The ELB is a champion in sharing JA’s mission and vision throughout central Iowa. The ELB has assisted in a social media strategy campaign throughout 2023 to increase our social media engagement and build brand awareness. Our strategy has resulted in increased engagement and followers.
Last, but not least building brand awareness which in turn recruits volunteers needs to be met with appreciation. With nearly 28,000 central Iowa students served and 360,000 volunteer hours served JA Central Iowa plans an event each year to show our appreciation. The ELB is key in planning and executing this event. We are excited to host JA Day at the Iowa Cubs on June 15th! Hot dogs, stadium cup giveaway and distinguished guests throwing out the first pitch we are excited to show our gratitude to our JA partners!
