JA BizTown

JA BizTown® is an experiential learning laboratory for elementary and middle school students that combines 9 hours of curriculum delivered in 12 lessons prior to a 4 and 1/2 hour visit to JA BizTown®, a fully interactive, mock town that simulates the day-to-day functions of thriving communities.

The JA Stock Market Challenge is an exciting, fast-paced competition that provides high school students during the day, and corporate sponsors during the evening, the opportunity to participate in a day of simulated stock trading. Students participate in 60, one minute trading days where they learn to buy and sell stocks with analysis and risk.

A powerful career exploration event for middle and high school students!

Junior Achievement of Central Iowa is excited to announce a new program for middle and high schools called JA Inspire – Virtual Career Fair! This program provides schools and students with 6 month access to a virtual career fair platform where companies from across our 55 county territory and 16 career clusters will create exhibitor booths to showcase their organization and educate students on how to land the job or career of their dreams.

Iowa HS Financial Literacy Standards – JA Solution

The JA Financial Literacy Course includes flexible delivery for teachers:

• Supplement existing unit plans by utilizing individual lessons
• Meet all standards at once with the entire course
Course concepts includes how to earn and save money; how to manage money by being a wise consumer and creating and using a budget; how to manage bank accounts, investments, and credit; how to assess risks and use insurance; and how to address financial problems like identity theft and debt.
