Community Impact Manager

Title: Community Impact Manager
Area: JA of Central Iowa
Status: Full-Time, Salaried


Primary Responsibilities:

POSITION CONCEPT: The Manager- Community Impact is primarily a fundraiser and invites current and prospective donors to invest in the mission of Junior Achievement of Central Iowa. This position oversees grants/sponsorships, special events, and event and donor marketing initiatives to “tell and sell” JA’s impact on young people in Central Iowa.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cultivates relationships with assigned constituents to maximize donor impact
Tracks and updates assignments in The List
Prioritizes and secures donor visits; captures notes in BCRM
Collaborates with donor prospects and determines the best-matched appeal to present
Presents the impact proposal
Follows up in a timely fashion
Organizes, communicates, and collaborates with committees of the JA Board of Directors to execute funding objectives of all special events
Designs and oversees a stewardship program to create an effective resource pipeline, increase retention of funder relationships, increase revenue from existing relationships, and enhance the JA brand.
Leads, manages, and holds accountability for the Community Impact Coordinator
Ensures special events are memorable experiences
Ensures donor and event marketing initiatives are on message and align with organizational mission
Assists with the preparation of the revenue and expense budget and cash flow projections, including the tracking of event revenues, expenses, and budget adjustments
Manages and communicates with the JA Emerging Leaders Board to execute funding objectives and volunteer needs of the organization
Assists President in preparation/follow up for other proposals to funders as needed
Serve as a member of the JA of Central Iowa leadership team, participating in EOS meetings and leadership initiatives to help guide the organization's strategic plan

Simulation Specialist

Title: Simulation Specialist
Area: JA of Central Iowa
Status: Part-Time, Hourly


Primary Responsibilities:

POSITION CONCEPT: The Simulation Specialists facilitate and assist with the daily operations of JA BizTown and/or JA Finance Park. Assist in educator and volunteer training associated with JA BizTown and JA Finance Park. Act as a resource to students, volunteers, and educators.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage simulation day efficiently and effectively when volunteers and students are present by helping to lead simulation processes on the microphone
Prepare for simulation by following morning set-up guidelines and afternoon cleaning and re-set procedures
Facilitate morning volunteer training and check-in
Maintain overall instructional excellence of the program for all stakeholders (educators, students & volunteers)
Understand how to troubleshoot computer issues as well as store and charge devices.
Assist Manager as needed with the JA BizTown and/or JA Finance Park software by setting up daily simulations and running reports
Monitor inventory of simulation materials and forms. Inform Manager of supply needs and help restock simulation materials
Communicate with Manager to recognize potential problems, questions/concerns, etc.
Assist with JA BizTown Summer Camp sessions
Other duties and projects as assigned, including special event support

Qualifications (required)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience, strong interpersonal and oral presentation skills, detail orientation, and organizational skills, demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment: positive attitude and computer literacy skills.

JA Finance Park Manager

Title: JA Finance Park Manager
Area: JA of Central Iowa
Status: Part-Time, Hourly


Primary Responsibilities:

POSITION CONCEPT: Facilitate and lead daily operations of JA Finance Park simulations. Recruit volunteers for simulations and conduct volunteer trainings associated with JA Finance Park. Act as a primary resource to students, volunteers, and educators.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare for JA Finance Park simulations by following morning set-up guidelines and afternoon cleaning and re-set procedures.
Coordinate and organize JA Finance Park volunteers the day of the simulation.

Prepare student and volunteer simulation materials.

Facilitate morning volunteer training and check-in using the Raptor System.

Manage simulation day efficiently and effectively when volunteers and students are present by leading thesimulation process on the microphone.

Maintain overall instructional excellence of the programs for all stakeholders (educators, students & volunteers) and help lead teacher curriculum trainings as needed.

Understand how to troubleshoot computer/software issues and/or reach out to IT for assistance.

Manage, update, store, & charge all tablets in preparation for simulations.

Manage JA Finance Park simulation software by setting up login credentials, individual simulations, and running reports.

Monitor inventory of simulation materials and forms. Order needed supplies, make copies, and/or inform Director – Education of supply needs.

Communicate with Director – Education to recognize potential problems, questions/concerns, etc.

Act as first line of contact for simulation specialists.

Other projects and duties as required, including Summer Camp and special event support

Positive attitude, strong computer skills and ability to troubleshoot technology issues.

Education Coordinator

Title: Education Coordinator
Area: JA of Central Iowa
Status: Part-Time, Hourly


Primary Responsibilities:

POSITION CONCEPT: The Education Coordinator will manage Junior Achievement learning experiences with particular emphasis on program implementation, growth, volunteer recruitment and training in selected schools. There will be an emphasis on building relationships with schools, and volunteer contacts while upholding quality standards for the organization and adherence to program models and program expansion.

Implement programs according to the organization’s Vision, Student Impact Plan and Program Implementation Standards.
Develop and maintain educator and volunteer relationships within identified schools and companies
Provide effective communication and trust with JA Leadership Team and Education Committee when discussing JA programs. Recruit program volunteers to meet program goals.
Secure new sources for volunteers.
Provide program materials, and resources to volunteers and teachers.
Organize and implement volunteer training.
Maintain strong understanding of new and existing program offerings.
Handle general records and correspondence with volunteers and prospects, maintains constituent and program information in database, market class registration and volunteer needs, and supervise procurement and delivery of all program materials.
Other projects as required, including special event support

Qualifications (required)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer literacy a must; strong oral/written communication skills; knowledge of the education community and organizations.
