Data and Education Assistant

The Data & Education Assistant supports Junior Achievement of Central Iowa's educational operations by ensuring the timely and accurate entry of JA Learning Experience data and providing a welcoming, professional experience for visitors at JA BizTown and JA Finance Park. This role is primarily responsible for entering and maintaining program, classroom, educator, volunteer, and student participation data in organizational systems. In addition, the position serves as a front-line contact for visitors entering through JA BizTown and JA Finance Park, providing basic assistance, wayfinding, and administrative support to educators, volunteers, students, vendors, and guests. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, friendly, and committed to supporting JA's mission through excellent customer service and accurate data management.

Primary Responsibilities:

Data Entry & Program Support (Approximately 75%)
- Enter and maintain JA Learning Experience program data in organizational databases and reporting systems.
- Maintain accurate records for schools, educators, volunteers, businesses, classrooms, and students.
- Verify data accuracy and completeness; report discrepancies as needed.
- Prepare reports, rosters, attendance records, program materials, and related documentation.
- Organize and maintain program files and records.
- Provide administrative support to experiential learning staff and assist with data cleanup and reporting projects.

Visitor Check-in & Facility Support (Approximately 25%)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors to JA BizTown and JA Finance Park.
- Welcome, check in, and direct volunteers, students, educators, vendors, and guests.
- Coordinate deliveries, catering, and other visitor-related logistics.
- Communicate visitor arrivals and deliveries to appropriate staff.
- Maintain a professional reception area and provide administrative support during simulation days.
- Respond to routine inquiries and direct questions to appropriate team members.

Qualifications (required)

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or above.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow procedures, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications (desired)

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in administrative, receptionist, customer service, or data-entry roles.
- Experience with databases, CRM systems, educational programs, or working with students, educators, volunteers, or the public.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Accurate data-entry and keyboarding skills.
- Friendly, professional customer service approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively, prioritize tasks, and solve routine problems.
