The JA of Central Iowa Manager/Senior Manager of Human Resources and People Experience primarily supports core human resource functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, recordkeeping, and HR process administration and compliance. This role performs routine to moderately complex tasks and is also responsible for talent acquisitions, such as supporting full-cycle recruitment, candidate sourcing, and coordination. This position also collaborates with JA USA HR department and local PEO.

Primary Responsibilities:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

General HR Operations
- Administer day-to-day HR processes, including employee data updates, documentation, HRIS entries, and compliance-related tasks
- Lead employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring timely completion of required documentation
- Point of contact for benefits administration, employee inquiries, and policy interpretations, escalating issues as needed
- Maintain personal files and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements
- Run routine HR reports and support annual audits
- Other projects and duties as assigned

Talent Acquisition
- Post job requisitions, help source candidates, and conduct initial screening interviews
- Schedule interviews and coordinate hiring-related logistics with candidates and hiring managers
- Manage candidate communications throughout the recruitment cycle
- Prepare offer letter and documentation
- Research best practices and provide input on talent acquisition process improvements

Employee Relations & Culture Support
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and the employee handbook, remain attentive to employee concerns while escalating complex issues and resolutions to senior HR staff
- Develop and administer employee engagement programs, culture-building initiatives, and HR communications
- Coordinate employee professional development and training for individual and team growth
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive workplace culture based on Team Values through responsive service and consistent HR practices

Qualifications (required)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and credentials
2+ years of experience in human resources or people operations roles
Strong relationship-building/managing skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Organized and detail oriented
Demonstrated ability to work in a time-sensitive environment
Strong computer skills and ability to troubleshoot technology issues

Additionally, the person in this role will be required to occasionally lift or carry 25-50 pounds.
